XP 2020 — 21st International Conference on Agile Software and Systems Development

An Agile Alliance Event

June 8-12 – Online

XP is the premier Agile software development conference combining research and practice. It is a unique forum where Agile researchers, practitioners, thought leaders, coaches, and trainers get together to present and discuss their most recent innovations, research results, experiences, concerns, challenges, and trends. Whether you are new to Agile or a seasoned Agile practitioner, XP 2020 will provide an informal environment to learn and trigger discussions.

XP 2020 marks the 21st edition of the “First Agile Conference”. The focus of the XP conference program has expanded over the years as Agile has advanced. While the first event in 2000 focused on eXtreme Programming and pre-dated the Agile Manifesto, XP 2020 solicits contributions that address all modern Agile approaches as well as the application of Agile to applications including (but not limited to) FinTech, AI/ML, IoT, and other mission-critical systems with global reach.

XP 2020 will consist of a 5-day program with sessions that feature research papers, experience reports, keynotes, panels, workshops, an Agile leadership symposium, a doctoral symposium, an Agile education and training track, lightning talks, networking receptions, and an Open Space evening.

Submissions solicited below will be reviewed by the program committee based on relevance, significance, rigor, novelty, replicability, and quality. In some cases, submissions that have been accepted will be subject to shepherding by a designated committee member.

The Research Paper, Research Workshop, Experience Report, Industry and Practice, Doctoral Symposium, Agile in Education and Training, and On-site Research Track calls are open (see more information from the links below). The rest of the calls will be opened soon.

The XP 2020 conference proceedings will be published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) series, as open access. Full and short research papers will be published in the main proceedings before the conference. The post-conference proceedings volume will include the workshop and doctoral symposium papers, as well as papers from Agile Education and Training Track and Onsite Research Track.

XP2020 Special Section in IST Journal

The authors of the best full research papers and onsite research papers will be invited to submit extended versions of their work to a special section on XP2020 in Information and Software Technology (IST) for evaluation.
