XP 2019 – CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS – INDUSTRY AND PRACTICE

XP 2019 — 20th International Conference on Agile Software and Systems Development

An Agile Alliance Event

May 21-25 - Montréal, Québec, Canada

XP, the International Conference on Agile Software Development, is the premier agile software development conference, providing a unique forum where researchers, practitioners, agile thought leaders, coaches, and trainers present and discuss their most recent innovations, research results, experiences, trends and concerns in the field of Agile Software Development. Whether you are new to agile or a seasoned agile practitioner, XP 2019 will provide a rich and informal environment to trigger discussions around its main theme — ”Agile, the next 20 years. Share and Discover!”

The XP 2019 conference will be in downtown Montréal at the École de technologie supérieure, an engineering school that is part of the Université du Québec network.  A renowned metropolis in the province of Québec that is among the largest cities in North America,  Montréal is home to multiple and diverse attractions. In addition to the large Francophone population, there is also a sizable Anglophone community and many cultural communities, which gives the city a cosmopolitan flair. Boasting a human dimension in a city where everyone feels safe, Montréal features vibrant neighbourhoods and numerous green spaces, along with restaurants to suit every taste and budget.

Submissions

Building on our theme of "Agile, the next 20 years. Share and Discover", we invite proposals for session topics oriented toward practitioners, either from industry or academia, that explore collaboration practices, coaching practices, management practices, meeting practices, effective communication practices, and games to promote optimal agile practices, possibly taking advantage of minimal, yet sufficient, use of tools.

The sessions will be oriented toward industry practitioners and welcoming to interested academics.

Proposals will be evaluated based on these criteria:

  • Presents concepts or practices grounded in the proposers’ experiences.
  • Clearly states the audience it will address.
  • Actively involves participants in their own learning.
  • Learner-focused outcomes and process.
  • Fresh approach to or interpretation of topic.
  • Clear content and process that fits well within a 60 minutes slot.

Across the track sessions, we will attempt to balance between introducing new ideas for experienced practitioners and solid foundational topics for those newer to Agile. Please feel free to propose topics that are new as well as those that are more familiar to the reviewers.
