PORTLAND, OR., Feb. 9, 2009 – The Agile Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting those who explore and apply Agile principles and practices, today announced early registration is now open for Agile 2009, scheduled for August 24 – 28 in Chicago (http://agile2009.agilealliance.org). In response to growing demand, the Agile Alliance has selected a larger venue and taken steps to scale the program up for more than 2,000 attendees.

“The Agile Conferences continues as the premiere event for the Agile community to assemble, share ideas and advance best practices that continue to revolutionize the way software is developed,” said Johanna Rothman, Agile 2009 conference chair. “Initial interest in this year’s conference is very strong and we’re pleased to open early registration to allow people time to secure the best deals on travel and lodging.”

In its seventh year, the Agile Conference provides independent software vendors, software consultants and in-house corporate development teams with the knowledge and shared experiences that lead to successful Agile programs. This year, the conference will broaden its scope to include an ever-increasing and diverse Agile community. Agile 2009 connects attendees with the foremost leaders in the Agile domain, enriching the collective body of knowledge and influencing the line of thought in the field. It encourages debate and fosters innovative ideas based on real-world implementations for executives, managers, software development practitioners and researchers from labs and academia.

The conference program is still accepting speaking submissions until Mar. 3, 2009. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit ideas and proposals for sessions via an online submission system at (http://agile2009.agilealliance.org/welcome). Following core Agile principles, this year’s program selection will incorporate an iterative feedback process. All proposals are available for review by the Agile community, enabling presenters to receive feedback and modify their abstracts up until the deadline.
