No Estimates With No Dogma

About this video

#NoEstimates is a controversial topic and discussions on this are often fought with verve, but little progress. I want to take a step back, talk about the reasons why we started to have estimates on projects, how they are used and abused. I want to differentiate between the different purposes that we use estimates for, discuss the pros and cons for each of the purposes, point our alternatives, and discuss where and when to use estimates or better use another approach. All that without being dogmatic!

The goal is to equip you with a better understanding of when to use estimates, and when to use another approach, so that you have the right tool for the right situation.
