Abstract/Description
We all know training is not sufficient to boost practical learning, but how can you integrate learning into an organizational culture? Whether you call them communities of practice, guilds, or centers of excellence, subject matter communities have long been a part of both agile and knowledge management (KM) disciplines. But how do you demonstrate their value while keeping participants engaged?
This session will explain how to put knowledge into practice and build a robust community in both in person and online contexts. For in person learning, we will focus on event curation and how to get the right mix of knowledge transfer and hands-on experience. For online learning, we will focus on how to structure content for findability so it can get to community members at the point of need. Attendees will be able to bring these lessons back to their own communities, whether formal or informal.
