Abstract/Description
At Agile 2013, I asked the participants of my session what I was doing wrong with my management team. You answered, and we’ve acted. In late 2013, we completely reorganized our company structure – and rather than hiring Bain, McKinsey or another expensive management consultancy, I chose two of my own project managers, whose only prior project management experience had been in software development. Would two people who’d only ever been on the receiving end of company restructuring be able to use agile techniques to deliver a successful reorganization? Join me in this highly-interactive session to explore how they did, the lessons we learnt and how organizations can reorganize in a productive, low-risk and human-centered way.
If you’re intrigued by the possibilities of applying your agile skills to big and valuable business problems, I hope you’ll find this session engaging, intriguing and thought-provoking. As a CEO, I believe that agile ideas and principles have the potential to make the world a better place outside (as well as inside) software. This is implemented right across my business, and we’re learning by doing. During this session we’ll investigate how agile professionals can move beyond software and add value at every level, right up to the board.
