Abstract/Description

There are oodles of lite to moderately skilled and well-intentioned agile coaches in the world who are doing their best to help their teams and organizations transform. But there are usually more challenges and obstacles to their coaching than they have skills to meet them with. Often, they revert to “good enough” coaching and “fingers crossed” as an overall strategy. Much of this relates to a deep competency and breadth of skills gap in that it’s hard to know what great or badass agile coaching really looks like and how to get there. In this session, seasoned (can I say Badass) agile coaches Jennifer Fields and Bob Galen will take you on a journey to explore the characteristics of badass agile coaches. They’ll share the newly updated Agile Coaching Growth Wheel as a core model and explain each of the Wheel’s wide variety of stances and deeper competencies in detail. They will also explore the self-first mindset that you need to grow and refine as a coach. In a nutshell, whether you’re a Leader, Manager, Scrum Master, RTE, or Coach, if you want to be a better coach, this session will set you up for an extraordinary journey towards mastery. And why is that important? Because the agile world needs less “Good Enough” and more “Badassery” in its coaches.
