ABOUT THE EVENT
The Women in Agile community reaches another milestone, celebrating its fifth annual half-day conference in 2020! Through the years we’ve been inspired and found career and personal growth together, guided by conference themes— Inform, Empower, Expand, Activate! —and this year we take time to reflect on our Impact while looking ahead to the Impact we can have on our futures. What have we accomplished? What has changed for you? Where do you see work still to be done? If this is your first time with the Women in Agile community, what brings you to this space and what Impact do you hope to create?
We’ll be inspired (and entertained) by Kory Stamper, lexicographer and author of Word by Word: The Secret Life of Dictionaries, who finds profundity, humor, and wonder in the ways we communicate every day. Language belongs to those who use it; by taking words beyond the dictionary, she shows their far-reaching implications in the world of social justice and personal identity.
Networking, collaboration, and self-organization have been at the heart of Women in Agile since its founding and 2020 is no different. Guided by skilled facilitators, we’ll be active, engaged, and involved in shaping our own conference experience with interactive sessions focused on the topics most important to us.
Again this year we will close the session with a series of short talks from Launching New Voices, our mentorship program that helps aspiring new speakers develop their potential by pairing with experienced conference presenters. Kick impostor syndrome to the curb and submit your talk idea! Protégés, apply here. If you are interested in mentoring a New Voice, please apply here.
We’ll keep celebrating and connecting with a no-host happy hour after the event.
Catch an early flight and join the #WomenInAgile revolution! Be sure to register early – space is limited to 300 and we expect to have a wait list again this year.
