Tony Shawver serves as a National Agile Practice leader at MATRIX. Joining MATRIX in 2010, Tony possesses over 15 years of experience in leading and managing technology projects including implementation, software application development, consulting and coaching. His technical experience includes hardware and software development, project management, agile coaching, technical consulting, training and business process analysis and re-engineering. Tony’s previous management experience includes his role as Principal and Director of the PMO, where he was responsible for creating the software development processes and artifacts which balanced communication and quality needs with efficiency and throughput. Tony’s current focus is split between transforming organizations into more productive, better places to work through pragmatic training, coaching and implementation of the Agile principles, and coaching software development teams to be more efficient and effective through the use of specific Agile methodologies. Tony has satisfied clients within a wide range of industries including Healthcare, Financial Services, Electronic Payment Transaction Processing, Loan Decision Engines, Risk Management, Consumer Credit, Media Distribution, Inventory Management, Knowledge Management, Commercial Services, Manufacturing and Product Distribution. Tony’s success comes through a focus on effective communication and relationships across all levels – from daily team interaction and cross-departmental collaboration, to Senior Management and Executive Steering Committee interaction. Tony is well versed in Agile methodologies with over nine years of experience including over five years of leading/coaching multiple, successful Agile teams using both Scrum and Kanban. Tony has certifications as a Scrum Master, Scrum Professional, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program Consultant (SPC) in addition to his Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration.
