Agile2021 is the largest annual global gathering of Agile practitioners.

In its 20th year, the conference is the premier international event for the advancement of Agile software development and is dedicated to furthering Agile principles and practices while providing a venue for people and ideas to flourish.

We are working on a fully virtual event this year and will have more information coming soon. Sign up for our mailing list for conference updates.

Agile2021 will be a fully virtual global event in the following time regions:

  • The Americas – CDT Time zone
  • EMEA – Europe, Middle East, Africa – WEST Time zone
  • APAC – Asia Pacific – HKT Time zone

When will the Agile2021 call for submissions open?

Submissions are open now and will close on April 15th, 2021. More details on the submission process can be found here, details on what’s new for 2021 can be found here.

My session was accepted for Agile2020, which was cancelled. Will I automatically part of the 2021 program this year?

We appreciate all the work that goes into submitting for the conference. However, you will be required to submit again to be considered for the Agile2021 program. You are welcome to submit a similar session as long as it fits within the new tracks and requirements. More information on the submission process can be found here.

Where can I find more information about sponsoring Agile2021?

We have some exciting sponsorship opportunities and would be happy to discuss further with you, please email us.

Is an Agile Alliance membership included in my registration?

No, unlike prior years you will not get a complementary membership.  We do encourage you to signup for membership prior to registration so you can save a minimum of $150 when you use the membership rate. For more information on membership click here.

Can I receive PMI PDUs for attending Agile2021?

Yes you can. If you hold a PMI certification, you can claim Professional Development Units (PDUs) for attending sessions at Agile2021 via the Continuing Certification Requirements System.

Report each conference session separately under the Education category.
The content of the session must align with PMI’s Talent Triangle® in at least one of the following skills areas:

  • Technical project management: Knowledge, skills and behaviors related to specific domains of Project, Program and Portfolio Management.
  • Leadership: Knowledge, skills and behaviors specific to leadership-oriented, cross-cutting activities that help an organization achieve its business goals.
  • Strategic and business management: Knowledge of and expertise in the industry or organization that enhances performance and better delivers business outcomes.

You can earn one (1) PDU for each hour of a session that relates to the PMI Talent Triangle. Because Agile2021 sessions are 50 minutes in length, you can earn up to .75 PDUs for attending a full session. You can submit PDUs in .25 increments.

If a session relates to multiple parts of PMI’s Talent Triangle® only a portion of a session relates to topics relevant to the PMI Talent Triangle skill areas, you should calculate PDUs by the percentage of the overall content focused on the applicable skill area.

If you are selected for audit of your PDU submission, your registration confirmation can be used as documentation of your attendance.

Keep in mind that you are required to complete a specific number of PDUs in each area of the PMI Talent Triangle each renewal cycle. The number of PDUs varies for each certification, so refer to the PMI Continuing Certification Requirements Handbook for specific requirements and additional information about claiming PDUs.

If you present a session at Agile2021, you can claim .75 PDU for every 50 minute session you present under the Giving Back category in the Continuing Certification Requirements System. There are limits on the numbers of Giving Back PDUs that can be claimed, so you should review the PMI Continuing Certification Requirements Handbook for specific details.

If you don’t find an answer to your questions in the handbook, you can also contact PMI’s customer care team.

Can I earn SEUs from Scrum Alliance by attending Agile2021?

Yes! Each hour of your continuing education — the time you spend reading articles, volunteering, attending events such as Agile2021, and taking courses — equals one “Scrum Education Unit,” or SEU. Presenting, coaching, and attending sessions all count as SEU-eligible activities. We ask that you add a certification-specific number of SEUs before you may renew your certification every two years. This maintains the credibility of your Scrum Alliance certification.
1. Log into scrumalliance.org
2. Hover over “Hello, {Your Name}” in the upper right corner of the screen
3. Look left! Click “Manage SEUs” under the calculator icon.

Are day passes available for Agile2021?

Learning, connecting and sharing is at the heart of the conference. There is no substitute for face-to-face contact, and in a virtual event is designed to enhance networking opportunities between attendees, speakers, and sponsors during one-on-one meetings and networking platforms. We feel day passes detract from this high-quality experience, so we do not offer them.

Attending Agile2021

I'm attending Agile2021 for the first time, what can I expect?

New to the Agile2021 Conference? Click here for more information on what to expect virtually. There will also be a Q&A session, check back for dates and times once the schedule is announced

What materials will I need to take part?

Ideally, reliable Internet connection, a webcam if you wish to have face – to – face interactions with participants, and a headset with microphone.

What platforms will you be using?

Agile2021 will use Swoogo as the virtual environment. Talks will be streamed through Vimeo and workshops will take place in Zoom.

Are there browser requirements for attending the conference?

Swoogo’s preferred browser is Chrome or Firefox and can also be successfully used on Safari, Brave, or Microsoft Edge. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer because that browser isn’t actively updated anymore and therefore compatibility isn’t optimal with Swoogo.

For best experience we recommend the following:

  • Confirm you have a reliable internet connection. At least 20 Mbps  is ideal for download. This can easily be determined by a quick speed test via google.
  • Ensure you have the most updated version of your browser and test your sound/microphone quality ahead of time.

What is the dress code?

Business casual and comfortable. Make sure your background is not cluttered and you have good lighting on your face, not behind it for your one-on-one meetings.

How can I interact with the attendees?

There will be an opportunity to interact with attendees during workshops and in the Agile Alliance Lounge, 1-on-1 meetings and other social events. More opportunities to be announced closer to Agile2021

Will my registration information be shared with sponsors or 3rd party apps?

Yes- when you interact with sponsors and participate in sponsored areas you are giving consent to the sponsors to contact you for marketing purposes after the event and you are entitled after the fact to object to any further communication. For further details on how your data is handled and processed please visit Agile2021 Terms and Conditions.
