Diana Larsen's Agile Alliance Page
Diana Larsen, Portland, Oregon, USA, Partner and Senior Consultant with FutureWorks Consulting LLC
A specialist in the human side of software development, I consult with Agile teams and enterprises to expand teams’ capabilities to interact, self-organize, and improve project performance, as well as coaching team leaders. I lead a variety of team processes for collaborative thinking and planning. Then working together, my clients and I leverage Agile approaches to build workplaces that realize business results while developing and dignifying people.
Along with Esther Derby, I co-authored Agile Retrospectives: Making Good Teams Great (Pragmatic Programmers, 2006). I speak, write and present workshops on self-organizing team development and team leadership, project leadership, leading retrospectives and influencing organizational change. I’ve experienced bootcamp with XP teams and completed Scrum Master certification, as well as bringing forward my experience with Lean processes in high tech organizations.
A former director of the Agile Alliance (July 2004 through July 2006), I have taken a year away to gain perspective and have developed a keen awareness of the untapped potential of the organization. We can find innovative, collaborative ways of connecting with members both to learn their needs for support and to inform members of the support and resources currently available.
I also contribute as the contact person for the Portland XPDX the APLN-PDX user groups, as a board member and committee chair of the Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference (PNSQC), and co-founded the International Retrospective Facilitators Gathering and the Agile Open Northwest conferences.
My past experience has taught me that involvement in a leadership role in professional organizations pays off in numerous ways – both personal and professional – for me and for the organization. Since my interest lies with Agile teams and enterprises, I want to contribute to the Agile Alliance.
