I am the conference chair for the Agile2016 conference to be held July 25-29 in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s my privilege to lead the team of highly respected Agile experts and practitioners who will present this event that spans the spectrum of Agile practices. We invite you to join 2,500 Agile colleagues from more than 40 countries at this exciting week of Agile learning, collaborating, and connecting!
Over the next four months, we will be working with submitters to read and review their proposals, offer help, and ultimately select more than 250 sessions presented by world-class experts and thought leaders in the space. Our week together will also include insightful keynotes along with a host of social and networking events.
We engage in continuous improvement and have made a few changes to next year’s event:
- The program is expanding to twelve full tracks, including the Government track that was introduced at Agile2015. We will also offer two new tracks. One will expand on the Research track from previous conferences to explore the future of Agile Software Development over the next 15-50 years. This is an exciting collaboration with IEEE.
- Five special tracks are returning this year — Agile Bootcamp, Stalwarts, Open Jam, Experience Reports, and Lightning Talks.
We have taken the learnings from the submission system experiments last year and crafted what we believe is a better experience than ever before. Submitters may still request help and receive coaching on their session proposals, but the process is simpler and help will be available throughout the entire submission period.
In future posts, I’ll introduce you to the rest of the program committee, describe a few experiments we have up our sleeves, and describe the new tracks I hinted at above.
Everyone involved with planning the program for Agile2016 is very excited to be embarking on this journey to Atlanta. Our goal is to create the best program possible, and give you — the attendees — the best experience you’ve ever had!
